 'Tis the season! Now that most of us have gone into turkey overhaul, it's time to look forward to one of our favorite holidays, Christmas! Much like last year, ![[info]](http://www.insanejournal.com/img/userinfo.gif) aver will be celebrating the holiday by taking a part in Secret Santa! What better way to spread the holiday cheer and get everyone in the spirit? For those of you who participated last year, the same rules still apply. However, for those of you who are new to aver or have never participated in one of our Secret Santa's before, read on!
The most important thing we wish to mention is that we will be doing this throughout the month of December. Therefore, if you are not planning on staying active throughout all of December, please do not sign up for secret santa! It would not be fair to those who are fully committed to this activity to get a partner who drops the ball on their commitment. It'll do the opposite of what we're striving for. We don't want to spoil the fun for anyone!

Sign up here in this screened post to be a part of the secret santa group. You must comment to let us know that you want to participate by Wednesday, December 7th. We know it's a little rushed but the mods are somewhat behind this year.
On Wednesday, December 7th, aversanta will send you a PM with the name of your secret santa. Please make sure you check your PMs and let us know if you don't receive one.
The "secret" part of this event means that you must have a post in your journal that is anonymous accessible. If you'd even like to make a special post dedicated solely to your secret santa, that's more than okay with us! We actually strongly recommend that, it keeps things organized. In this post, you may want to leave suggestions about what types of things you like (music, movies, you name it!) because we're hoping to assign partners to broaden people's social networks, so they might not know you very well yet! This helps people who aren't very good at gifting as well.
This would be the perfect time to sign up for the member directory if you haven't yet! It might also be a good idea to include a link to your Member of the Week post in your comment if you have one, that way your buddy can learn a little more about you before dropping off their surprises!
Search the web for some gifts! Make your buddy a mixtape, leave some funny youtube videos, draw them an artpad, just get creative with it! Use your imagination and leave gifts on your buddy's designated post on the following days:Friday, December 9th - Gift #1
Wednesday, December 14th - Gift #2
Wednesday, December 21th - Gift #3
Sunday, December 25th - Gift #4 Please keep in mind that you are more than welcome to post more often than the four above dates if you so choose.
